Azokeramos is a small and quiet agricultural village located at 260 mt. a.s.l. on the slopes of Mount Traòstalos (520 mt.) on the eastern hills of Crete (it had only 14 inhabitants in the 2011 national census, source Wikipedia.gr).
The central part of the village is unfortunately characterized by several abandoned buildings in need of restoration; the countryside that surrounds it is beautiful and well-kept and the three Orthodox churches are also well cared for, from the largest dedicated to Agios Iosif, to the one in the center of the oldest part of the village dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Panagia) up to the small Agios Ioannis in the cemetery at the village entrance.
The Ktel regional bus with the Sitia-Palekastro-Zakros line stops on the main road and runs three times a week in summer.
